New Trends on Tourism Communication

It is estimated that one out of every 5 tourists’ travels seduced by the audiovisual impacts received in the form of films, advertisements, documentaries or series.

According to a Google's Traveler Study report, 65% of travelers see films shot or inspired by the destination they want to visit and 63% consume online videos to choose the activities they will carry out.

Taking advantage of the extraordinary platform that FITUR supposes, the city of Madrid is the ideal framework to project an event dedicated to the reflection on the tourist audiovisual and the best audiovisual and digital practices in the communication of destinations.

Landing - New Trends on Tourism Communication will consecrate during four days several activities focus on the challenges and new trends of communication and marketing of tourist destinations.

The event will combine the presentation of the most successful digital tourism communication campaigns and a competition (FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid) for audiovisual productions that will form part of the exhibitors in FITUR with the projection of the World´s Best Tourism Films of 2018 awarded the last November in Vienna, Austria.

Landing - New Trends on Tourism Communication is organized by Tourism Board of Madrid City Hall jointly with CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) and Terres Travel & Landscape Communication.

CIFFT is unique in the world of film festivals, offering top-quality competitions with a great value to the tourism industry. Since 1989, DMO´s, film producers, advertising and communication agencies and big players in tourism have chosen to enter their productions into the Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit because it provides a framework best suited to evaluate and promote their tourism films & videos.

The Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit
is a global competition with festivals in 18 cities and 16 countries, open to any kind of audiovisual communication, from promotional films to social media videos, commercials to videos or advertising campaigns, from travel videos to documentaries or reports, whenever the theme focuses on the promotion of tourism destinations or products.
