New Trends on Tourism Communication

FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing Madrid 2019

FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid is a competition integrated in the event Landing - New Trends on Tourism Communication. Organized by Tourism Board of Madrid City Hall jointly with CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) and Terres Travel & Landscape Communication.
These Regulations are issued in English and Spanish. In case of doubt the Spanish version will be valid.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid is open to all tourist destinations that will be present at FITUR 2019 - International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain and have one or more Films/Videos focus on tourism promotion of cities, regions and/or countries.

Films taking part in the Competition should meet the following requirements:

• Videos must have been completed after January 1st, 2018;
• The total duration of the film cannot exceed the respective duration according to the Production Type:

Commercials/Ads up to 1 minute
Promotional Films up to 15 minutes

• The films should be in their original language with • English Subtitles, if the original language is not English;
• Applicants should fill in all the required fields of the entry form and send the materials requested to the organizers.
• Every entry must be submitted online.
The deadline for submissions is: 10th January 2020

JURY

The films to be awarded are selected by the International Jury on the basis of the Following criteria’s:

Impact – what you feel when you first view the Entry. Does the video evoke an emotion from the viewer? Does the video engage you from the onset or does it lose momentum?
Creativity – how the Entrant was able to convey their idea, message or thought in an original and imaginative way through their lens, narrative, performance, etc.
Style – how the Entrant is able to showcase their personal originality and technique to influence how the video is presented and interpreted.
Subject Matter – was the subject matter addressed in the narrative, performance and music (if applicable) in the video appropriately represent the Sponsor’s promotional theme?
Storytelling – how the Entrant is able to let their Video Entry evoke the viewer’s imagination, which may differ by each viewer. Is the story being told the right story for the Sponsor and their brand?
Each criteria is evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10 points.

The jury and the organizer may select additional entries for special recognition. Decisions of the jury are final and not subject to any legal appeal.

AWARDS

The jury will decide to attribute awards to the best films of the competition. On 22 January the organizers will announce the official selection of the competition (The nominees).

The jury will determine the following Awards and Diplomas:

International competition:
• Best International Film Promoting a Country Fitur 2019
• Best International Film Promoting a Region Fitur 2019
• Best International Film Promoting a City Fitur 2019

The runner ups will receive the Diploma of Nominees FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid 2019.

National competition:
• Best Film Promoting a Spanish Region Fitur 2019
• Best Film Promoting a Spanish City Fitur 2019

The runner ups will receive the Diploma of Nominees FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid 2019.

Grand Prix for the best film:
The best film in the competition will receive the Grand Prix FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid 2019. In addition, a 25" version of the film will be screened during 15 days on the Madrid Destino outdoor screens throughout the city of Madrid.

All the winners and nominees will receive a voucher of 5% discount to join the biggest competition in the world for tourism films, the Grand Prix CIFFT Circuit endorsed by UNWTO, ETC, CATA and CTO, and run for the title of the World’s Best Tourism Film announced every year in Vienna, Austria.

FILM APPLICATIONS

All entry forms should reach the organizers no later than 14th January, 2019.

After fill in the Entry form, the applicant must send the film to the email hmarcos@landing-madrid.com, according the Formats & Sendings described in the row below.

COPYRIGHT AND BROADCAST RIGHTS

By entering the FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid, the entrant declares, that he is entitled to dispose of all rights to the use of the entry and vouches for these rights vis-a-vis the festival. The entrant warrants that the rights of use held by all authors, owners of ancillary copyrights and other parties involved in the production of the festival entry, except for the rights safeguarded by the performing rights societies, have been acquired in a due and proper manner and the exploitation of the festival entry is not barred by personality rights or other third-party rights in any manner whatsoever. The FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid has the right to reject any material that does not align with the character and objectives of its program. All submitted films, entry forms and promotional material become the property of the competition and are kept in the competition archive. The “FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid” reserves the right to screen all the films submitted, specifically the right to present and demonstrate the film in public either in whole or in part or to use the entry in part on a "Competition Reel" or similar, to the organizers. This also applies to stills/images provided to the competition. All aforementioned transfers of use shall be of worldwide validity.

RIGHTS OF USE - PROMOTION & PUBLICITY

The entrant is required to assign the streaming rights to the organizers to declare, that he is entitled to dispose of all rights to the use of the entry and vouches for these rights vis-a-vis the organizers. The entrant warrants that the rights of use held by all authors, owners of ancillary copyrights and other parties involved in the production of the FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid entry, except for the rights safeguarded by the performing rights societies, have been acquired in a due and proper manner and the exploitation of the FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid entry is not barred by personality rights or other third party rights in any manner whatsoever. Entering in the FITUR Film & Video Competition by Landing-Madrid the entrant transfers rights to the use of the entry, specifically the right to present and demonstrate the entry in public either in whole or in part or to distribute the entry in whole or in part on a "Competition Reel" or similar, to the festival. This also applies to stills/images provided to the competition. All aforementioned transfers of use shall be of worldwide validity.

By entering a film the entrant accepts the Regulations and also agrees to hold the competition harmless against all costs or claims of third parties arising from any such use by the organizers from false information by the entrant.
